Dengue Fever
In 1780 an outbreak of fever caused by mosquito vectors, simultaneously at the same time in different parts of the world such as Asia, Africa and North America. in 1779 this disease was then called dengue fever.
Dengue is a disease caused by one of the 4 types of viruses that are transmitted through the bite of mosquito Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti. Aedes sp mosquitoes breed only in the tropics and sub-tropics is 2/5 parts of the world. it can attack children and adults, if it attacked the children the symptoms tend to be more severe.
There are 2 types of dengue, namely dengue fever and dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Symptoms dengue fever like influenza, but tend to be very heavy. Dengue fever rarely causes death. While DHF also have symptoms similar to severe influenza but is followed by bleeding and shock that can cause death. Southeast Asia’s first major outbreak began in the 1950s in the Philippines. In 1975, DHF has become the main death cause disease in children in southeast Asia region.
to eradicate this disease is difficult because it takes effort and considerable funds for vector control, public education, environmental sanitation, community mobilization and cases monitoring. Another difficulty in vaccine discovery efforts for dengue disease is because there are 4 types of virus. Someone who had been exposed to one type of virus will not be immune to all other types of dengue virus.
